| Sound The Trumpets |
Brass tubing bent into a spiral shape, tapered and flared in the correct places, with 3 valves that open and close – and what a royal sound it makes when in the hands of an artist! This workshop takes an up-close look at the trumpet - an instrument that dates back to at least the 1500s and is used in almost all styles of music. Doug Haislip will guide students through the history of the trumpet from the conch shell to the modern day piccolo, and explore sound production and sound waves using a “hose-a-phone.” Demonstrations of various sized trumpets, with numerous musical pieces performed, make this an educational, interactive, and entertaining workshop. Also great as a small assembly (max 100) for schools and adult audiences.

|  | Super Science Workshop | Feathers, bubbles, balloons, cups, plates, chairs, and eggs all serve to provide a magical introduction to science. Using circus skills and magic tricks, the program, with artist Lisa Lewis, explores the physical phenomena that result in scientific experiences. Designed to stimulate inquiring minds and to encourage critical thinking, students learn that science is not only amazing but also “kid-friendly” as they participate in the scientific process.
