Forces and motives driving the characters and plot bring immediacy to the written word. By freeing their imaginations, students experience the imagination of the author first-hand. Grades PreK-12
Curriculum Connection: Language Arts
|  | Jungle Animals | Artist Mark Stankiewicz will show students the work of Henri Rousseau and explain his unique style of working with layers. They will create their own layered jungle scene with leaves, cut out animals and more. This workshop can be extended to a mini-residency with students creating a large paper mural for their classroom that has painted leaves, a painted pattern border and jungle animals that have been drawn, cut out and pasted into the scene. Grades K-2 |  | Lovely Ladybugs | Environmental Studies Puppets, poetry, and hands-on investigations excite children during this discovery workshop with Betty Boomer. Songs and activities teach insect body parts. Children are delighted as live ladybugs open their wing covers and fly. Grades PreK-2
