Open The Door

Anger is not something reserved for adults – children, too, need to learn how to deal constructively with this emotion.

Scot Cannon offers real alternatives to hitting, throwing things, and slamming doors, through the use of mime, music, and comedy. He connects with his audience by sharing his own personal experiences to illustrate how hurtful words can be - emphasizing that “once you push, hit, or call someone a name, you can never take it back.”

This interactive program stresses honesty, tolerance and communication as a means of defusing anger and encourages children to “Open the Door – Tell Someone What’s Wrong.”

Scot provides children with positive ways to handle anger and uses student participation as an integral part of the performance.
