Embark on a journey with Solid Brass Quartet & Percussion Ensemble into the history and folklore of the men, women, and children who left everything to immigrate to this great country. From their travel to their experiences at Ellis Island, this program looks at the adventure of those who helped shape our nation’s destiny.
Using music of their era, posters, humor, and student participation, children will gain an insight into the greatest experiment in freedom and liberty the world has ever known.
A review of the brass instruments will include a description of sound production. Various percussion instruments will be presented for the richness in color they provide. This is a PowerPoint/multimedia presentation.

Grades PreK-12 • Great Family & Community Program Also Available |  Chris Marksbury; CM Photos | Petticoats In Politics | “Mr. President, how long must women wait for liberty?”- Inez Milholland This special musical program, starring Kate Campbell Stevenson, brings to life women from history who worked hard to ensure that all women could enjoy the full rights of US citizenship. Vignettes featuring portrayals of Abigail Adams, Eleanor Roosevelt, Alice Paul and Rose Crabtree (from the 1920 All-Woman Town Council of Jackson Hole, Wyoming) highlight the roles these women played in achieving women’s rights - especially their fight to win the vote. This program provides excellent examples of active participation for political and social change. A question and answer period follows the performance. Grades 6-8 |
